Jack Henrich


Jack Henrich has been with Bergerson-Caswell, Inc. since 1968 and is currently its President.  His certifications include: IGSHPA/GHPC/AEE – Certified GeoExchange Designer, IGSHPA - Accredited Trainer, IGSHPA – Accredited Installer, IGSHPA – Accredited Vertical Loop Installer, NGWA – Master Ground Water Contractor.  He is a Past President of the National Ground Water Association, and a Past President of the Minnesota Water Well Association. He is a licensed driller in numerous states. Bergerson-Caswell is a leader in the design and installation of all types of ground source heat exchangers.

Greg Wells


JGreg Wells is a geothermal sales engineer for Jackson & Sons Drilling/Jackson Geothermal in Mansfield, Ohio. He is responsible for commercial sales, commercial field design and installation quality control. Jackson Geothermal has installed thousands of tons of vertical geothermal heat exchanger systems from coast to coast. Wells has 20 years of experience in the geothermal industry as an electric utility representative, a territory manager for a geothermal heating and cooling manufacturer, a general manager of a large geothermal installation company, prior to being employed at Jackson Geothermal. Wells is currently serving on IGSHPA’s Advisory Council, is an IGSHPA accredited installer and trainer and an IGSHPA/AEE Certified GeoExchange Designer.

Executive Director | International Ground Source Heat Pump Association

Jim Bose is the Director of the Division of Engineering Technology at Oklahoma State University. Bose has research interests in energy conservation and specifically ground-source heat pump technology. He has been principal investigator on a number of private and government contracts, including the Electric Power Research Institute, the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association, the American Society of Heating Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, the Department of Energy, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce and others. He has traveled in conjunction with the International Energy Agency (IEA) to China, Sweden, and Austria in promoting ground source heat pump technology. He authored several design and installation manuals for ground-source heat pump systems. He is active in the International Ground Source Heat Pump Association and serves as the Executive Director. He works extensively with research agencies, manufacturers and contractors, and lectures extensively on energy conservation and the benefits of ground source heat pump systems.

Trey Austin


Austin began his interest in geothermal technology as a graduate student at Oklahoma State University where his research focused on in-situ testing. Since that time he has gone on to design and consult on projects domestically and internationally. His expertise focuses on energy analysis and optimization of HVAC design, operation, and commissioning and integrating technology specific solutions. In 2006, he joined forces to create an engineering design firm dedicated to the GHP technology. Austin is well known for his passion for sustainable projects and specifically GSHP applications. His project experience ranges from homes and businesses to eco-tourism and beyond. He lives and plays in Colorado with his amazing wife, Dusti, and three beautiful children.

David R. Dinse
Project Manager | Tennessee Valley Authority

David Dinse has been employed at the Tennessee Valley Authority since 1981 as an R&D project manager and project engineer. He is the Tennessee Valley Authority’s leading technical authority on geothermal heat pump technology. Since 1995 he has been a vital member of the TVA team responsible for TVA’s highly successful promotion of geothermal heat pumps in schools and other commercial buildings. He has directed TVA’s research on geothermal HP performance in commercial buildings for over 12 years.

He has been a very active ASHRAE Member at the chapter (President), region and national levels. Since 1994, he has served in various capacities on ASHRAE technical committee 6.08, Geothermal Energy Utilization and has received several ASHRAE awards including the 2007 Distinguished Service Award.

John Kelly

John Kelly


John Kelly has over 20 years experience in the utility industry, including energy conservation, customer service and business development. He is executive director of the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium. His other experience includes facilities engineering and federal go vernment contract negotiation. Kelly has a degree in engineering from the U.S. Air Force Academy and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Colorado. He is a registered professional engineer in Colorado and New Mexico.

Eve London has been employed with Trane since 1998 and is the product manager for water source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps.  She has been involved in the geothermal industry for five years promoting geothermal heat pump equipment and technology in commercial applications.  London has a bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and a master’s degree in engineering management from Mercer University.  She currently serves on the IGSHPA Advisory Council.

Phil Schoen

Phil Schoen is the president and CEO of Geo-Enterprises, Inc., a company he founded specializing in the design and application of geothermal heating and cooling systems. Schoen has worked in the GHP industry for over 26 years and has been involved in the installation of thousands of GHP systems in the United States, Bermuda, Korea and Japan. He has designed and installed many different types of ground heat exchanger piping systems, including ones used for convenience stores, US Department of Defense projects, US Embassy housing, Indian Health Services hospitals, Indian gaming casinos and many different types of school campus buildings. Chris Smith


Chris Smith is currently employed with Bosch Thermotechnology Corp. He has been involved in the water source and geothermal industry since 1967.  Prior to helping start FHP (Florida Heat Pump) in 1970, he was with ClimateMaster Products. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Florida Atlantic University in 1969. Smith was chairman of IGSHPA from 1995 -1997, vice chairman prior to that and in 2010 was presented with the IGSHPA Ambassador Award.

Ted Striplin
International Marketing Manager | McElroy Manufacturing, Inc.

ted striplin


Ted Striplin has been with McElroy Manufacturing, Inc. in Tulsa Oklahoma, USA, for 36 years. He was Sales Manager for 14 years before assuming responsibilities as Product Manager, Product Development Director, and now International Marketing Manager. Throughout his career, he worked with many of the pipe manufacturers in developing fusion parameters for pipe and fittings to be used with the McElroy fusion equipment. In 1981 he was first introduced to geothermal systems when he and a colleague helped Dr. Bose and OSU staff install the first all PE loop. From 1988 until 1997 Striplin was the project manager responsible for the design and development of McElroy’s ultrasonic inspection system for butt fusion joints. Striplin is chairman of the ISO committee TC138 SC4 WG6 which is responsible for fusion equipment and parameters and is active in other standards and trade organizations.

John Turley

John Turley


John Turley is President of Middleton Geothermal Services in Akron, Ohio, a leader in the Midwest in geothermal testing, designing and installation of commercial applications. Middleton has been designing and installing commercial geothermal projects since 1994 when they completed their first system for First Energy Corporation. Since then, Middleton has over 50 geothermal projects to their credit, representing thousands of tons of capacity. Turley has a BA in Business Economics from the College of Wooster and an MS in Mineral Economics from Penn State University. Previous to Middleton he was a consultant in the Houston office of Data Resources, Inc., working with customers in the electric utility and oilfield services industries. Turley is currently serving on IGSPHA’s advisory board and is an IGSHPA Accredited Geothermal Installer and Trainer and an IGSHPA/AEE Certified Geothermal Designer.
